Odyssey Evolved (OE) is a new joint venture company bringing together Odyssey Innovation and Evolved Research and Consulting.
Advocating and delivering change through ideation, innovation, engagement and design.
Drawing on the success of both companies in delivering ideation and innovation to reduce marine plastics, this new venture builds on their existing strengths to provide a unique and tailored service aimed at enabling behavioral change and a more circular economy.
As pioneers of the circular economy and the marine plastic recycling and manufacturing industry we are equipped to offer a complete range of strategic and effective services.
Whether an innovator or manufacturer seeking to explore the potential of our marine recyclate, a firm requiring assistance in transitioning to a circular business model, a council looking to adopt new waste and resources strategies or an enterprise requiring support for policy development -our expertise will take you there.
Odyssey Evolved uses an engaged and collaborative approach to provide a range of bespoke services. Following an initial scoping and needs assessment these can be tailored to address the specific requirements of clients.
The nature of engagement will vary depending on the client needs analysis with options ranging for example from initial strategic, process or policy reviews to richer and deeper relationships whereby Odyssey Evolved work alongside the client over the longer term to co-create targets and deliver change. Options for engagement, including duration, will therefore vary.
That's the equivalent amount of plastic you are helping divert from the marine environment when you purchase one of our Marine Recycled Plastic Surfing Handplanes.
*This would have been impossible without the help of all the fantastic beach clean community groups, councils, harbours, businesses, fishermen, net makers and charities we work with today.
Rob is a multi-award winning innovator renowned for pioneering the global circular economy by developing a solution to the marine plastic litter crisis by creating products from ALDFG and end-of-life fishing gear collected through his company's various recycling schemes, which support the interest of multiple stakeholders from small netmakers, charities, commercial enterprise and governmental departments across the UK.
Aged 3- Rob enjoyed the very first snorkle that enthralled him for life; eventually his passion for the sea, diving and marine protection lead him to set up Fathom's Free- a charity specialising in the underwater recovery of marine plastic and ghost gear using divers.
Today, Rob has been a key contributor and speaker at various national and international policy-informing workshops, local council meetings/briefing governmental agencies, commercial enterprises, university seminars, consultancy firms, podcasts, television and more, always concerning the fields of plastic pollution, marine conservation, recycling of marine waste, the circular economy, prevention of plastic waste, port reception facilities, extended producer responsibility and innovation in business.
Anthony is passionate about finding solutions to the problem of marine plastics and delivering sustainable options for a circular economy.
Anthony has led a range of complex international projects focussing on the quantification and characterisation of marine plastics including the delivery of national baseline assessments of Abandoned, Lost and Discarded Fishing Gear in South Asia on behalf of the World Bank and marine plastics in the Costa Rican Thermal Dome on behalf of the Global Oceans Biodiversity Initiative (GOBI). He has also worked on plastic value chain analysis and solutions to marine plastics through enabling a more circular economy and better waste management and is keen to develop practical solutions to the problem of marine plastics.
He has considerable experience of project, programme and policy evaluation, having carried out work on behalf of a range of organisations including the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat and UK government departments and agencies. He also has a track record in developing partnerships, networks and delivering engagement and is Chair of the Clyde Marine Planning Partnership (CMPP) which is charged with developing and delivering a statutory Marine Plan for the Firth of Clyde, Scotland.
Having studied Marine Resource Development and Protection at the Institute of Offshore Engineering, Heriot-Watt University and with a PhD in marine planning, Anthony is a qualified professional diver and a Visiting Professor at the University of Southampton.
One of the things Odyssey Innovation is proud of how many of the UN Goals for Sustainability it has ticked...
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
The 17 SDGs are integrated—they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.
These are the ones our company fulfills:
